Sailing teacher and captain with 26 years of experience offers unique and flexible sailing day trips that combine active learning and relaxing cruising, according to your wishes. A default duration of a day trip is 5 hours. It can be more or less, depending on your wishes. The starting and finishing hours are also flexible, depending on your preferences and weather conditions. As an exception to day trips, overnight stays and trips of several days are possible. However, you should be aware that the the boat does not have a toilet nor a shower and has 3 beds (one of which is double). Pick up and drop off is in a small port 10 minutes walk from the old town of Korcula, but can be arranged elsewhere in vicinity, where possible (e.g. closer to Lumbarda or on the side of Peljesac peninsula, in Orebic, when the weather permits stopping there). My guests are invited to participate in sailing to the extent that they wish. Usually, we do a mix of hands-on sailing lesson - where I explain the theory as we go, and guests participate in all activity and turn into excited crews by the end of day - and relaxing on a boat on the water, stopping and anchoring to swim in a turquoise sea by picturesque uninhabited islets with scenic views to the mountains and other islands, away from the crowds. On a day trip, we typically stop once or twice for a swimming and/or lunch. I do not rent the bare boat. You have the opportunity to learn about winds, weather and the ecosystem, the sailboat, how sailing works, and get a hands-on experience in sailing. Whether you are new to the world of sailing or a seasoned sailor, you participate and learn as much or as little as you feel like, under the expert guidance. Advanced lessons are also possible, as well as just a lazy ride, enjoying the beauty of the scenery. You explore the Korcula’s corner of the famously beautiful Adriatic sea in a safe, relaxed and engaging way.About the boat: It is a small sailboat that sails like a rocket. Renovated fully in spring 2021. All safety equipment on board. If you bring food: there is a the fridge and a small kitchen. Cockpit has a sunshade and beaches are reached by a by-boat/dinghy. A portable toilet is on board but used only exceptionally (for children, or offshore sailing). There is no shower. There is drinking water and sunblock in case you forget yours.See my photos on the nautilus_adriaticus on instgrm, and sailing korcula dot com. See over 60 more reviews / praise on arbnb experiences 'sail in paradise'.I started sailing when I was 15 (it was in the year 2000), and sailed in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and the North Atlantic. I also bring years of experience in developing pedagogies of situated learning and a passion for teaching.I listen to and do not underestimate the elements, even when this divine corner of the Earth seems to be easy-going. Safety is first and pleasure comes easy then. The price does NOT include food and drinks (for you and the skipper), fuel and mooring costs, if any (normally fuel costs are zero or very low, mooring costs zero). The price is based on 2 persons' booking. If more persons wish to book the price changes accordingly.
